2. General
This website presents my services as an online language teacher. I take the protection of your personal data seriously and process it only in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese data protection law. The website uses no tracking or analytics cookies. Fonts are served from the site itself, not from Google.
3. Hosting
The website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit the site, STRATO processes technically necessary data (including IP address, browser type and time of access) in server logs. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). Processing takes place in Germany. More information: STRATO privacy policy.
4. Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name, e-mail address, preferred language, message and the time of your consent are delivered by e-mail to my mailbox at STRATO (see section 3) and forwarded from there to my mailbox at Google Mail (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The data is not stored on the web server. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The e-mails are deleted once your enquiry has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. 5. Booking via Calendly
To book a trial lesson or lessons I use Calendly (Calendly LLC, 271 17th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA). The calendar is only loaded once you click a booking button. Data such as your IP address is then transmitted to Calendly; when booking you also enter your name, e-mail address and possibly further details. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiation and performance of a contract). Calendly is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: Calendly Privacy Notice.
6. Payments via Stripe
Paid lessons and packages are billed through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland). Payment data is processed directly by Stripe; I have no access to full card details. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. More information: Stripe Privacy Policy.
7. Introduction video (Vimeo)
The introduction video is embedded via Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001, USA) and is only loaded when you click “play”. The embed uses Vimeo’s “Do Not Track” setting (dnt=1), so Vimeo does not collect session data for analytics. When you play the video, technically necessary data (including your IP address) is still transmitted to Vimeo. The legal basis is your consent given by actively starting the video (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Vimeo is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: Vimeo Privacy Policy.
8. Lessons by video call
Lessons themselves take place via a video-conferencing tool (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet), which I will tell you about when you book. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Portugal the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). For any request, simply write to kate.kundera@gmail.com.
